The short answer

The Jobs API returns Quebec job postings as data, in French and English, from employer career sites and hiring systems. Use province=QC or a city such as Montréal, and search French words with q or title; accents and case are ignored. Each job includes ad_language, en or fr, when we can tell the language of the posting. The free trial includes 100,000 jobs for 14 days.

What is a Quebec jobs API?

It is an API that returns jobs located in Quebec as structured data. Many Quebec employers post in French, some in English, and some in both. A good Quebec jobs API keeps the original text, so a French posting stays in French.

How do I search Quebec jobs?

  • province=QC: every job with a Quebec location
  • city: a city with its province, such as Montréal, QC or Québec City, QC
  • q and title: French or English words; accents and case are ignored
  • employment_type, remote, has_salary and window to narrow further

Try it: French jobs in Montréal

This request returns jobs in Montréal whose title says infirmière or infirmier, with full descriptions:

Search French job titles in Quebec
curl --get "https://api.thejobsapi.com/v1/jobs" \
  --data-urlencode "city=Montréal, QC" \
  --data-urlencode "title=infirmière OR infirmier" \
  --data-urlencode "description=html" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Because accents are ignored, title=infirmiere matches infirmière too.

How do I know if a job is in French?

Each job has a derived ad_language value: en or fr. A bilingual flag is true when the posting has both versions. These are read by rules from the posting’s own text and are empty when we cannot tell. They are not search filters, so read them in your code after you search.

What does each Quebec job include?

  • Title and description in the employer’s own language
  • Full description in text and HTML
  • Locations, normalized as City, Region, Country, for example Montréal, Quebec, Canada
  • Pay when the employer states it
  • Original job link and apply link
