Add Canadian and US jobs to a Job Boardly board
Fill a Job Boardly job board with employer jobs from Canada and the US, through Job Boardly’s API or XML import.
Updated
The short answer
On Job Boardly’s Pro plan you can use its API to create, update, publish and unpublish jobs. Pull new, changed and expired jobs from The Jobs API every hour and mirror them into Job Boardly. On other plans, import a CSV you export from our API.
What can Job Boardly import?
Job Boardly’s site lists CSV import on all plans, and XML import, an API and webhooks on the Pro plan. Its XML importer needs a title, job type, description, company and apply link for each job, and can map country, region, city and salary.
The simple sync loop
- Every hour, call /v1/active-ats?time_frame=1h with your filters (country, province or state, title, source) and create each job with Job Boardly’s API, then publish it.
- Once a day, call /v1/modified-ats and update those jobs.
- Every hour, call /v1/expired-ats and unpublish or delete them.
- Save our job id on each record, so a repeat never makes a duplicate.
Job Boardly imports XML. We send JSON. Here is the bridge.
The Jobs API answers in JSON. Job Boardly’s importer reads an XML feed from a public web address. A small script in between fixes that: it calls our API with your key kept on the server, and serves the jobs as XML at a long, hard to guess address.
You can run that script as a Cloudflare Worker, an AWS Lambda, a cron job or an n8n workflow. Never put your The Jobs API key in the feed address itself, because anyone with the address could use it.
Why use The Jobs API instead of built-in backfill?
- Job Boardly’s own Job Backfiller uses credits from an unnamed source. Backfill jobs usually pay per click and send your visitors to another site.
- Our jobs come from employer career sites and hiring systems, so each one links to the employer’s own apply page.
- Full descriptions in HTML and text, pay when the employer published it, and every location.
- Jobs expire when the employer removes them. We never close a job on one failed check.
- Strong Canadian coverage in English and French, plus the United States.

Which fields map across?
Title, company, HTML description, apply link, country, province or state, city and salary all have a matching Job Boardly field.
Can I try it first?
Yes. The free trial lasts 7 days and includes 500 jobs and 50 API requests, with no card. That is enough to test the whole flow on a staging board.
