Add Canadian and US jobs to a JobBoard.io board
Feed a JobBoard.io job board with jobs from employer career sites in Canada and the US through its XML import.
Updated
The short answer
JobBoard.io imports third-party XML feeds daily, weekly or monthly, with options to process updates and expire jobs missing from the feed. Serve our jobs as XML through a small bridge and map our job id to its identifier.
What can JobBoard.io import?
JobBoard.io’s docs describe XML job imports with field mapping, custom tags, update processing, auto publish and auto expire. They note that thin RSS feeds are not enough.
JobBoard.io imports XML. We send JSON. Here is the bridge.
The Jobs API answers in JSON. JobBoard.io’s importer reads an XML feed from a public web address. A small script in between fixes that: it calls our API with your key kept on the server, and serves the jobs as XML at a long, hard to guess address.
You can run that script as a Cloudflare Worker, an AWS Lambda, a cron job or an n8n workflow. Never put your The Jobs API key in the feed address itself, because anyone with the address could use it.
Why use The Jobs API instead of copy and paste?
- Our jobs come from employer career sites and hiring systems, so each one links to the employer’s own apply page.
- Full descriptions in HTML and text, pay when the employer published it, and every location.
- Jobs expire when the employer removes them. We never close a job on one failed check.
- Strong Canadian coverage in English and French, plus the United States.
Questions people ask
Should I use auto expire?
Yes, if your bridge returns every active job for your filter on each run. Otherwise remove jobs from /v1/expired-ats.
Can I try it first?
Yes. The free trial lasts 7 days and includes 500 jobs and 50 API requests, with no card. That is enough to test the whole flow on a staging board.
