Backfill JobBoardFire (JBFire) with US and Canadian jobs

Plan a JobBoardFire (JBFire) backfill with employer career-site jobs, country filters and lifecycle feeds from The Jobs API.

Updated

The short answer

Import or API confirmation required. Job Board Fire offers a hosted job marketplace. We have not verified a public import schema or write API contract. Ask its team for the supported import format before building the adapter.

Current US and Canada coverage

Measured .

  • Canada: 362,268 active source records.
  • United States: 6,223,901 active source records.

Active means listed by the source at its latest check. These are source records, not a verified count of distinct vacancies. Counts change as sources are refreshed.

Connect JobBoardFire (JBFire) to your job feed

Confirm external job IDs, full description support, employer apply links, updates and removal behavior. If XML is enabled, generate the exact feed they approve; if an API is enabled, use its documented write operations.

Map and test the import

  1. Start with a small filtered set, keeping the original job ID as the external identifier.
  2. Map title, employer, full HTML description, locations and original apply URL; leave unavailable salary fields empty.
  3. Import as drafts first. Check accents, French descriptions, multi-location roles and application links.
  4. Update by the saved identifier and remove only jobs confirmed closed or excluded by the lifecycle feed.

Fetch a Canadian or US backfill

Run this request on your server with your API key in the environment. It returns up to 10 active Canadian records with descriptions. Change country=CA to country=US for the United States. Follow next_cursor until it is null; a short page is not the end of a search.

The Jobs API: active Canadian postings
curl --fail-with-body --get "https://api.thejobsapi.com/v1/jobs" --data-urlencode "country=CA" --data-urlencode "limit=10" --data-urlencode "description=both" --header "Authorization: Bearer $THEJOBSAPI_KEY"

Keep the API key on your server. XML and CSV importers need an adapter; our API returns JSON. A complete snapshot must finish successfully before replacing the published feed. Never expire jobs because a paginated or failed import omitted them.

Flat-price job data for your board

The Jobs API charges for country access, not clicks: Canada is US$200/month, the United States US$900/month, and both US$1,100/month. Paid plans include every active record in the selected countries, with no job or request allowance and a 10-request-per-second rate limit. Your board software and adapter hosting are separate.

Unlike a pay-per-click backfill arrangement, this subscription does not pay you for traffic or charge you for application clicks. You choose which relevant jobs to display and retain the employer application link. The trial includes 100,000 jobs over 14 days, with no card required.
